3 Auto Burglaries – 2900 blk of Graceland, 2000 blk of Menaul, 2100 blk of Louisiana

Points of entry were forced to doors, broken windows and door lock punches. Items taken were sports equipment, wallets, cell phones, electronics and sunglasses.

5 Residential Burglaries – 8600 blk of Bellehaven, 2800 blk of Las Cruces, 6300 blk of Driscoll, 4100 blk of Marla, 4500 blk of Ponderosa

Points of entry were open garage doors, back windows to homes, rear doors that were pried open. Items taken were items from inside a vehicle to include insurance and registration, garage door remotes, and jewelry.

In one instance, the homeowner happened to be home and heard the offender attempting to gain entry. They made noise that they were home and the offender fled on foot.

With regard to open garage doors, even just a little bit that is left open for venting because of the hot weather, this is one of the main entry points that is easily accessed to your homes. If you see anyone in your neighborhood that keeps their garage door open, even just a little bit, please remind them to close it. This is making the home vulnerable and criminals will take advantage of this.
