Several of these crimes could have been prevented simply by locking or rolling up windows; securing vehicles and homes as well as not leaving out items in plain view to the enticement of the criminal. We cannot stress enough how important it is to take items inside with you and not leave yourself vulnerable to the criminal, especially with vehicles. As you can see from our statistics, quite a few of these occurrences are in public parking lots while folks are shopping or having lunch. It only takes a few minutes for someone to break into a vehicle and take what they need.
Please let us know if you would like to have a security survey of your home as they are free of charge. All you have to do is call the NE Crime Prevention unit and make an appointment.
If there are any questions, please let us know. Thank you!
