It cannot be stressed enough to ensure that a vehicle is locked. Many of you have heard me talk about not leaving registration and insurance inside a vehicle. In two of these instances, that is what was taken. The offender now has access to your home address and there is the potential that not only have you been a victim of an auto burglary, but will become a victim of a residential burglary. It is vital that if you are going to leave that information inside the vehicle that it be placed in a different area of the vehicle, rather than the glove box or center console. As a reminder, you only need your registration and insurance while driving the vehicle.
